This masterclass is dedicated exclusively to the preparation and interpretation of piano concertos, offering pianists a focused and performance-oriented setting to refine their solo and ensemble skills. Korrepetition by Fedele Antonicelli is available throughout the course, ensuring high-level rehearsals with orchestral reduction and realistic performance conditions.
Repertoire focus:
- All piano concertos by Joseph Haydn
- Piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, beginning with KV 271
- Concertos No. 1, 2, and 4 by Ludwig van Beethoven
- Piano concertos No. 1 and 2 by Frédéric Chopin
The course emphasizes stylistic authenticity, musical dialogue, and the pianist’s role within the orchestral texture.
At the conclusion of the course, participants will take part in the 1st Euplayy/Ponte Piano Concerto Competition. The winner will perform their concerto with a string ensemble as part of the prestigious Ponte Festival concert program.

Fedele Antonicelli
Fedele Antonicelli, born in 1973, studied piano in Bari with Giovanna Valente and in Saarbrücken with Thomas Duis, graduating with distinction. He furthered his training in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Benedetto Lupo, Menahem Pressler, and Aldo Ciccolini. A multiple prizewinner at national and international competitions—including the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and Walter Gieseking Competitions—he received the Münchner Kammerorchester Special Prize at the 2002 ARD Music Competition.
As a soloist, Antonicelli has performed across Europe, North America, and Asia with orchestras such as the Bari Symphony, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the Russian State Symphony Orchestra. His interpretations have been broadcast by RAI, BR, NHK, and others. He currently teaches collaborative piano at the University of Music Saar and has been dedicated to mentoring young pianists in the Ulm–Aalen region, many of whom have won top prizes at major competitions.
